MKT 101 mindset Week 1

Nobody Cares About Your Product

This is the hardest thing for a founder to accept. Nobody wakes up thinking about what you built. They wake up thinking about their own problems. Their rent. Their team. Their boss. Their goals.

Marketing is not about making noise. Marketing is about inserting yourself into a conversation already happening inside someone’s head.

The founder who says my product has five powerful features will lose. The founder who says you’re losing two hours every day to this problem and we fix that in one click will win.

Features are what your product does. Benefits are what your customer feels. Pain points are what keeps them up at night.

You market to the pain, not the product.

Every piece of content you create, every ad you run, every post you write — should speak to one person. Not your audience. One imaginary person who represents your audience. What are they afraid of? What do they want to become? What would make them stop scrolling?

When you can answer those questions your marketing stops feeling like marketing. It starts feeling like a conversation. And conversations convert.

The brands people love don’t just sell things. They represent something. They have a point of view. They attract the right people and repel the wrong ones on purpose.

Build a brand that someone is proud to be associated with. That’s the goal.
